I’ve tabulated the standard OpenXR interaction profiles from the Khronos OpenXR spec at https://www.khronos.org/registry/OpenXR/specs/1.0/html/xrspec.html#semantic-path-interaction-profiles. A given Teleport server will have a control set it supports...

Following the work in my previous post, I happened across this Mastodon post about how good it would be to use lambdas, or function objects, as inputs in shaders. [ ](https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@meuns/111119173437770101) It occurred to me that i...

These are my slides for my session talk at VRARA’s Metaverse 2.0, which was held over 9th-10th March 2022 online. In the talk, I go over some early history of the Metaverse and VR concepts, then go on to make the case why something like Teleport is needed for an open Metaverse of the type we optimistically envision. I compare our approach to the app model status quo, and to Web-based technologies, detailing how in the first case we would be restricted to walled silos, and in the latter to a static data model. Teleport, while open and browsable like the Web, is a dynamic protocol better suited to a live and dynamic 3D Metaverse.
